Yoga Therapy |
The ancient art of yoga integrates the mind, body and spirit. In yoga, the mind and body are viewed as one. With the practice of yoga poses, an individual can achieve harmony even amid stress. The proven correlation between stress and relapse supports the use of yoga as a primary means to teach meditation and relaxation techniques to our clients. Our yoga therapist utilizes restorative yoga poses to address weakness, fatigue and stress. The restorative yoga is particularly beneficial for those struggling with major life-changing events, including recovery from addiction. |

Creative Expression |
Creative art therapy is a powerful tool in the process of addiction recovery. Our art instructor utilizes her artistic abilities to inspire imagination in our program participants. Art is expressive. The Creative Expression Group process, the images created and personal responses to the art production, reflect an individual's connection with their inner-self. Creative Expression also avails a healthy alternative for relaxation while building self-esteem. |

Massage Therapy |
Massage therapy is equally beneficial to both the individual recovering from drug and/or alcohol dependency as well as those with a dual diagnosis. During the withdrawal process and into early recovery, massage may naturally increase reduced levels of dopamine until brain chemistry normalizes. Massage also increases circulation of blood and lymphatic fluids, allowing toxins to be eliminated. Body function improves as the result of reduced muscle tension, awakening an improved emotional state. Individuals experiencing depression, anxiety or pain profoundly benefit from the regular relaxation experience of massage. |

Acupuncture |
Acupuncture relieves a wide range of most syndromes and disorders stemming from anxiety, depression, restlessness, cravings, insomnia, muscle aches and pains, headaches and injury. Hypertension, peripheral neuropathy, dizziness and restless leg syndrome are just a few of the syndromes that respond to acupuncture. A licensed acupuncturist, who is also board certified in Chinese medicine and specializes in working with those recovering from addictions, provides each treatment. Individual sessions include a full assessment and exam prior to treatment to address any specific issue a client might have. As acupuncture treatments are provided, clients are also taught meditation techniques to assist in the healing process. |
