Drug Rehab—a Safe Haven for Dual-Diagnosed Women
A well-known drug rehab center has tailored its recovery program to address the specific needs of women who suffer from chemical addiction as well as other psychological disorders such as eating disorders, trauma, or mood disorders. Drug rehab traditionally addresses the issue of addiction, but many are seeing that it needs to address both the addiction and the psychological disorder in order for full healing to begin. Women often have special needs, particularly survivors of trauma, and a drug rehab that specializes exclusively in treating women may be the place to start stabilization and begin a program of successful maintenance of sobriety. Historically, women lack a sense of personal power, and addiction often lures them away from their self esteem and inherent value system.
