On record, four million women suffer from alcohol or drug problems every year in America. However, these statistics only take into account women who have come forth and acknowledged to a problem. A new trend developing is the existence of female-exclusive alcohol rehabilitation “retreats.” These retreats offer luxurious comforts as well as a professional staff of primarily female doctors. Therapy is intensive and focuses on detoxification, psychological analysis, as well as spiritual healing. These gender-specific clinics may be the solution to encourage women suffering from an addiction to come forward and seek rehabilitation for alcohol addiction.
